About M.Tech at GGSIPU

M.Tech at IPU is a 4-semester full-time programme covering core engineering, specialisation electives, lab work, seminar and a final-year dissertation. Admission is strictly through GATE 2026 rank, and the university also offers seats under the sponsored category for working engineers with industry experience. The programme prepares graduates for R&D, advanced engineering, technology consulting and PhD studies.

Eligibility Criteria for M.Tech at IPU 2026

• Educational qualification: B.Tech / B.E. in a relevant discipline with minimum 60% aggregate (55% for SC/ST/PwD).
• Alternative: M.Sc in a relevant subject with at least 60% aggregate is also accepted for select specialisations.
• Final-year students: May apply on a provisional basis subject to clearing the qualifying degree.
• Entrance test: GATE 2026 is the primary entrance for most M.Tech specialisations, but per-code variations apply. Code 151 (Industrial Biotech) requires GAT-B Score only (no GATE / CET / CUET). Code 141 (AI&DS) is GATE → Merit of qualifying Exam (no CET / CUET fallback). Codes 139 / 140 / 156 accept GATE → CET → CUET#. Codes 147 / 148 accept GATE → CET → Last Qualifying Degree Percentage. • Sponsored category: Minimum 2 years industry experience plus a valid sponsor letter from the employer.

GATE 2026 (Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering) conducted by IIT/IISc in February 2026 is the primary entrance for most M.Tech codes. Where the brochure lists CET as priority 2, the GGSIPU PG CET fills seats unfilled by GATE merit. CUET PG (marked ‘#’) is the vacant-seat fallback per Important Instruction #37 — applicable only to codes that explicitly list it (139, 140, 156). Code 141 (AI&DS) and Code 151 (Industrial Biotech) follow special rules and do not accept CET / CUET as fallback.
