IPU Law Admission Through CUET (UG): BA-LLB & BBA-LLB Guide
Last Updated:
Integrated Law admission at GGSIPU (Programme Code 121 — Integrated BA-LLB Hons / BA-LLB / Integrated BBA-LLB Hons / BBA-LLB) is a 5-year programme granted on the merit of CLAT UG 2026 (the National Level Test). Per Important Instruction #37 of the 2026-27 brochure, vacant Law seats remaining after CLAT counselling are filled on the merit of CUET (UG) 2026. CUET-qualified candidates also become eligible for the 10% management quota seats at every unaided affiliated Law college (Important Instruction #21 + Chapter 12). Eligibility: Class 12 with 50% aggregate (best 4 subjects including English), pass in English. BCI bar: candidates who obtained 10+2 or graduation through Open Universities are NOT eligible (BCI Letter BCI:D:1823/2010 dated 31.11.2010). CUET subject papers: Section IA English (Code 101), Section II Legal Studies, Section III General Aptitude Test (Code 501). USS BA-LLB / BBA-LLB tuition Rs. 1,45,200 per annum 2026-27. Top colleges: VIPS-TC, MAIMS, FairField, BCIPS, BVP, IDEAL Institute. Note: 3-year LLB (Code 238) is admitted only through IPU CET — CUET does NOT apply. Free counselling: 9899991342.
How CUET Works for IPU Law (BA-LLB & BBA-LLB) 2026-27
Per Section 1.1 ("At a Glance") of the GGSIPU UG Admission Brochure 2026-27, the 5-year Integrated Law admission at IP University (Programme Code 121 — covering Integrated BA-LLB Hons, BA-LLB, Integrated BBA-LLB Hons and BBA-LLB) is structured as a two-tier merit list:
First preference: National Level Test — CLAT UG 2026 (Common Law Admission Test conducted by the Consortium of National Law Universities).
Second pathway:CUET (UG) 2026 # — used to fill vacant seats remaining after CLAT-based counselling rounds (Important Instruction #37).
A Law aspirant who only has a CUET score (and not CLAT) is still admissible — through the CUET vacant-seat round and through the management quota route at IPU's affiliated Law colleges.
Important: The above applies only to the 5-year Integrated Law programme (Code 121). The 3-year LLB programme (Code 238) is admitted only through GGSIPU CET 2026 — CUET does NOT apply for 3-year LLB per Chapter 2 of the brochure.
Eligibility for Integrated Law via CUET (Programme Code 121)
Per Chapter 2 of the brochure:
Pass in Class 12 (10+2) of CBSE or equivalent with a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate* and must also have passed English (core / elective / functional) as a subject.
* "Aggregate of 50% marks in the 12th class for the purpose of eligibility will be taken as the aggregate of the best four subjects (unless otherwise specified) including English."
Reserved categories (SC/ST/OBC/PwD): standard 5% relaxation per university policy.
Marks are not rounded off — 49.99% will not become 50% (Important Instruction #28).
BCI Bar (Critical): Per Chapter 2 of the brochure quoting BCI Letter BCI:D:1823/2010 (LE) dated 31.11.2010: "The applicants who have obtained 10+2 or graduation/post graduation through Open Universities system directly without having any basic qualification for prosecuting such students are not eligible for admission in the law courses." If your Class 12 was through NIOS / Open Schooling without a regular pre-qualification, you cannot be admitted to IPU Integrated Law — CUET score notwithstanding.
CUET (UG) Subject Papers Required for IPU Law
Per Chapter 2, Programme Code 121 (Domain Specific Subjects column), candidates appearing in CUET (UG) for IPU Integrated Law should attempt:
Section IA — English (Code 101)
Section II — Legal Studies
Section III — General Aptitude Test (Code 501)
English is mandatory since the BCI requires English as a Class 12 subject. Legal Studies is the most directly aligned domain paper. General Aptitude Test covers the analytical reasoning, current affairs and quantitative reasoning that overlap with CLAT.
Per Section 1.2 of the brochure: paper-mapping shown above is from CUET 2025; final CUET 2026 paper structure will be notified by GGSIPU before counselling.
Integrated Law Programmes Available Under Programme Code 121
All four programmes below are admitted through CLAT (primary) + CUET (vacant-seat / management quota):
5-year Integrated BA-LLB (Honours)
5-year Integrated BA-LLB (non-honours, where offered)
5-year Integrated BBA-LLB (Honours)
5-year Integrated BBA-LLB (non-honours, where offered)
BBA-LLB pathways suit students inclined toward corporate / commercial law. BA-LLB is the broader liberal-arts route — constitutional, criminal, civil and human rights specialisations.
Top IPU Law Colleges That Accept CUET (Vacant Seat Round)
Per Chapter 12 of the brochure, every unaided affiliated Law college reserves 10% of its total seats as Management Quota. A valid CUET (UG) score is one of the three accepted qualifiers:

BCI bar still applies — Open School candidates without basic qualification cannot apply, even via management quota.
Application: Apply directly to the college during the 18-day window advertised in 2 newspapers (Hindi + English).
Registration fee cap: Rs. 2,500 per the Admission Regulatory Committee.
Last date: 9 calendar days after the regular reporting date of the last GGSIPU counselling round.

Yes, through two routes for the 5-year Integrated Law programme (Code 121). (1) Vacant-seat round: per Important Instruction #37, GGSIPU runs CLAT UG 2026 counselling first; whatever Law seats remain unfilled are then offered on CUET merit. (2) Management Quota: per Important Instruction #21 + Chapter 12, every unaided affiliated Law college reserves 10% seats as management quota where a valid CUET score is one of the accepted qualifiers. Note: the 3-year LLB programme (Code 238) is admitted only through IPU CET — CUET does not apply for 3-year LLB.
Per Chapter 2, Programme Code 121 of the 2026-27 brochure, attempt: Section IA — English (Code 101), Section II — Legal Studies, Section III — General Aptitude Test (Code 501). English is mandatory since BCI requires English as a Class 12 subject. Legal Studies is the most directly aligned domain paper. General Aptitude Test overlaps with CLAT prep — analytical reasoning, current affairs, quantitative reasoning.
No. Per Chapter 2 of the brochure quoting BCI Letter BCI:D:1823/2010 (LE) dated 31.11.2010: "The applicants who have obtained 10+2 or graduation/post graduation through Open Universities system directly without having any basic qualification for prosecuting such students are not eligible for admission in the law courses." This bar applies to all Integrated Law admissions at IPU regardless of CLAT, CUET or management-quota route. NIOS / Open School candidates with a regular pre-qualification (e.g. completed Class 10 from a regular Board first) may be eligible — confirm with the college before applying.
Code 121 is the 5-year Integrated Law programme (BA-LLB Hons / BA-LLB / BBA-LLB Hons / BBA-LLB) entered after Class 12 — admission via CLAT (primary) + CUET (vacant-seat/management quota). Code 238 is the 3-year LLB programme entered after graduation — admission only via GGSIPU CET 2026 (CUET does not apply). Eligibility for Code 238: graduation in any discipline with 50% marks; reserved category relaxation per university policy.
Pass in Class 12 of CBSE or equivalent with a minimum aggregate of 50% marks* (best 4 subjects including English) and must also have passed English (core/elective/functional) as a subject. Reserved category candidates (SC/ST/OBC/PwD) get 5% relaxation. Marks are not rounded off (Instruction #28). BCI bar applies — Open School candidates without basic qualification are not eligible regardless of admission route.
No — the fee is identical regardless of admission route. Per Chapter 14, USLLS BA-LLB / BBA-LLB tuition 2026-27 is Rs. 1,45,200 per annum (USS is not open to management quota). Affiliated Law colleges typically charge Rs. 1,30,000-1,55,000 per year tuition per the 6th SFRC notification dated 14.07.2025, plus university and welfare charges. Management quota seats follow the same regulated fee — capitation fee is illegal under the Delhi Professional Colleges Act, 2007.
